Wish black screen lens & black start/select buttons were included instead of light grey.i think this shell would be fine for just a shell swap but in my case i have a modded gameboy with a modern lcd display. i wanted to shell swap with this wood grain one because it looks so cool but when i installed this wood grain shell there is a small gap by the corner where the speaker is and it is noticeable not only by looks but you can feel that gap while playing but to be fair i have a modded gameboy that requires some of the plastic on the shell for the new display to fit so that might have something to do with it. like i said a shell swap for a original none modded gameboy should work fine just be aware it might not fit properly if you plan to modify your gameboy with display.I had an old DMG i got at a flea market cheap years ago. It had some water damage, and the screen was missing lines. I was able to restore the origibal monitor to full working order and it was working great. The only issue was with the shell. Due to rust some of the mounts were broken, so it sat unused. Until i found this replacement. I knew i wanted something special and here it was. 70's woodgrain!!! The swap was an easy process, they supplied all the new hardware and tools for assembly. I love the feel and look of the case. My only complaint is with the d pad and the start select buttons as they seem to sit shallow in the body. Im not sure if i dont have the screens on the motherboard tight enough, or even tried the original d pad and buttons. It doesnt make the system unplayable, it just gives it an odd feel. Overall i love the upgrade and look forward to years of enjoyment with itIt’s awesome. I love the feel of it.It's not red material, just white plastic that has been painted red with a soft feel finish. Overall looks decent but won't stand up to wear and tear.I love the chameleon effect, which is just as nice as you could imagine. Looks better in person, and has a glossy, glittery look to it.But there is one important thing missing. Do you see it? It doesn't say "Nintendo Game Boy". I felt like something was missing, but I didn't realize what until now.Hope ExtremeRate keep making more amazing unique finishes like this.The only way I would improve it is with the original logo on the front but I realise this isn't possible without incurring the wrath of the big 'N'.also das Gehäuse ist leider das selbe, billige Gehäuse, welches man bereits für 6€ bei AliExpress kaufen kann... Der Lack ist viel zu dünn aufgetragen, sodass mittig auf dem Gehäuse die darunter befindliche "Gameboy"-Schrift immernoch durchschimmert (siehe Foto). Die beiliegende Abdeckung für den Game-Link Port ist nicht mitlackiert und kommt im typischen Weiß. Der Lack selbst ist auch nicht versiegelt, wesshalb er wohl auch nicht sonderlich lange halten wird. werde mir wohl nen Airbrush-Set kaufen, und künftig selbst lackieren... die beiliegenden Knöpfe und Gummis sind so ziemlich die schlechteste Variante der am Markt befindlichen Teile. alles in allem, wiedermal ein Gehäuse, welches man niemandem anbieten kann... Schade!Also ich hab meinen alten Game Boy von 1989 gefunden,aber die Hülle ist nach 32 Jahren natürlich ekelhaft vergilbt gewesen.So habe ich hier nach einer neuen Hülle gesucht und da hab ich mir diese neue Hülle Bestellt.Und jetzt hab ich einen neuen Game Boy angepasst an unsere Zeit.Und die Knöpfe,das Steuerkreuz sind auch wieder neuSelbst wenn ich nicht mehr auf dem Gerät spielen werde,so sieht es eben aber so gut ausDas ich immer wieder einen Blick darauf werfen werde.Also kauf sie euch auchGestaltet euren alten Game Boy neu.Lohnt sichAuseinander und zusammen Bau sind nicht schwer.Solitamente evito le scocche per Game Boy costruite da terzi, dato che sono spesso di bassa qualità e poco fedeli ai modelli originali. In questo caso ciò che spinge a comprare i prodotti eXtremeRate è la scelta di colori e design differenti che finiscono per stuzzicare un poco la voglia di creare qualcosa di diverso. Accettando quindi un piccolo compromesso si finisce per scegliere un prodotto come questo: un kit completo in cui ti vengono forniti i due cacciaviti necessari a smontare la console, la piastrina in alluminio su cui va a scorrere la cartuccia, dei nuovi contatti per le batterie, le viti, le membrane in silicone con anche i tasti, una lente (in plastica) di ricambio ed il guscio stesso che sembra essere realizzato con stampa idrografica. Al tatto risulta molto differente da una scocca originale: la texture quasi qui non c'è e ci si trova ad avere a che fare con una superficie liscia ed opaca.Per quanto riguarda le altri parti? Secondo me lasciano un po' a desiderare. I tasti sono diversi dagli originali; le membrane causano una sensazione piuttosto diversa quando vengono premute; i contatti per le batterie non si incastrano come gli originali e forzarli all'interno provoca solo danni alla pittura; la lente, come ogni lente in plastica, risulta gradevole appena tolta la pellicola ma attira facilmente polvere e si graffia molto velocemente.Il mio suggerimento, dato che il più delle volte ci si trova a fare questi lavori su un Game Boy solitamente intero, è di conservare ogni pezzo originale in modo da evitare di usare i pezzi forniti.Piccoli consigli: conviene fare molta attenzione a non graffiare il guscio in quanto si potrebbe finire col rivelare la superficie bianca sottostante e questo rovinerebbe l'aspetto generale; inoltre, problema in comune con quasi tutti questi ricambi, sarebbe meglio avvitare delicatamente ogni vite ed assicurarsi di non aver saltato passaggi in modo da non doverle svitare più di una o due volte dato che le sedi tendono a spanarsi piuttosto facilmente.Al di là di tutto sono contento del risultato. Mi piacciono le soluzioni che offrono un design differente ed è bello vedere come più compagnie cerchino di offrire qualcosa di originale per una console che, ormai, ha la sua età.Per chi vuole avere cura nei dettagli basta sostituire la maggior parte dei componenti forniti con degli originali.Per chi vuole fare un lavoro più casuale, invece, è un kit completo che permette di portare a termine il tutto con facilità, sicuramente più piacevole di altre alternative!
